Our Story

The Owners and the Vision Behind Quickly Benicia

Quickly Benicia is independently managed by brothers Paul Andre de Vera and Lloyd de Vera. Their background spans entrepreneurship, branding, and community-building. They brought that same energy into a local boba shop with big “third place” ambitions — somewhere you can show up with friends, bring the family, meet neighbors, and feel welcome.

The De Vera brothers run a community-first operation. You see it in the calendar of events, the collaborations with local chefs, artists, and vendors, and the way the team treats regulars like family. Their mission, in their own words: “Our goal is to put Benicia, CA, on the map for the best eats and community events.”

Benicia has heart. It has families, small businesses, creatives, and food lovers who care about local culture. The shop was designed to interrupt the routine loop — work, school, errands, repeat — with a place that gives people a real reason to gather. The De Vera brothers are proud to carry the Quickly brand’s bubble tea heritage while exercising the freedom to do things locally: bringing Filipino-American flavors into the boba lifestyle and creating space for community collaborations.

Independently Owned

By the De Vera Brothers

Searching “best boba near me” usually ends at the nearest chain: a formulaic menu, pre-made pearls, and nothing to come back for. Benicia had that problem for years. Then Quickly Benicia opened in Southampton Plaza and changed what the neighborhood expects from a boba shop.

Quickly Benicia sits at the intersection of Taiwanese bubble tea culture and Filipino comfort food, with weekend food drops, monthly pop-ups, and community events that feel less like promotions and more like neighborhood gatherings. New local ownership came in with a “fresh start, same great boba” mindset. The goal was not to reinvent boba. It was to raise the bar on quality, hospitality, and atmosphere, then add what Benicia did not already have: a consistent Filipino-fusion food program, weekly pop-ups, and signature events that bring different corners of the community together under one roof.

The result is a shop that operates as a cultural hub: part boba bar, part comfort-food spot, part creative stage. Whether you stop in for a classic milk tea, a silog plate, or BOBA & CARS, you are part of what makes the place work.

Weekend Favorites

Weekend Favorites Worth Planning Your Schedule Around

Some things at Quickly Benicia are available any time. Others are limited, timed, and intentionally scarce — because that is how community rituals get made. These are the weekend staples that have become local traditions.

EVERY SATURDAY

Ilocos Empanadas

Every Saturday, Quickly Benicia releases Ilocos empanadas in three timed windows: 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM. Each window drops a limited batch of 50 empanadas with a cap of 2 per person, so everyone gets a shot. It is first come, first served. The pro move is arriving a few minutes before each window, not after. They go fast.

11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM
EVERY SUNDAY

Sunday Empanada Windows

If Saturday does not work, Sunday offers two more chances: limited windows at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Same empanadas, same format — arrive early or miss out.

9:00 AM & 11:00 AM
SAT & SUN

Filipino Breakfast Silogs

Silog plates combine garlic rice and egg with your choice of protein. Saturday hours run from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Sunday hours open earlier, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, or until supplies run out. Pairing a milk tea with a silog plate is warm, nostalgic, and the kind of combination that turns a one-time visit into a weekly ritual.

  • Tocilog (sweet pork tocino)
  • Bangsilog (bangus fish)
  • Longsilog (sweet pork longanisa)
  • BBQ Silog (chicken or pork BBQ sticks)
  • Hot Dog Silog

Monthly Pop-Ups

Monthly Pop-Ups That Keep the Menu Rotating

One of the biggest reasons Quickly Benicia feels alive is the constant rotation of collaborations. The shop spotlights local talent and brings new flavors to the community through scheduled pop-ups. The best food scenes are built together, and the monthly calendar reflects that.

Every 1st Saturday

11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Chef J Appleseed — Mochiko

Mochiko is a Hawaiian-style fried dish known for its crispy, slightly chewy texture and savory-sweet flavor — classic plate-lunch energy. Chef J Appleseed offers chicken, combo, and shrimp, all served with rice while supplies last. Available the first Saturday of every month.

Every 3rd Saturday

12:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Big Mike's Catering

Big Mike's brings bold Filipino fusion to the third Saturday of every month. The menu features crispy sisig fries and sisig tacos — the kind of food that turns a regular Saturday into a mini event. Available noon to 4:00 PM.

Every 4th Saturday

12:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Sweet Thangs

The fourth Saturday is hosted by Osada3 and runs from noon to 7:00 PM. Sweet Thangs is an all-ages board game meet with sweet desserts and baked goods from local vendors, and music provided by open mic for youth performers. It is one of the more inventive recurring events in Solano County and a genuine reason to bring the whole family.

Open to New Collaborators

Quickly Benicia is always looking for the next collaboration. If you are a local artist, chef, baker, DJ, or community group with an idea, the De Vera brothers want to hear it. The shop was built to bring people together, and collaborations are one of the most direct ways to do that.

Signature Event

BOBA & CARS: Where Car Culture Meets Boba Culture

Quickly Benicia hosts BOBA & CARS, a bi-annual event series that blends Solano County’s automotive community with Filipino-American food culture. The format is interactive and family-friendly: cars on display, boba in hand, food on deck, and the community voting on the winner.

The BOBA & CARS Championship Showdown runs on March 8, 2026 and again in August 2026. The car show runs from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a lumpia eating contest from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Registration is capped at 20 vehicle spots — first come, first served with paid registration — and the community-voted Best of Show winner takes home a 20-inch trophy.

“We wanted to create an event that blends car culture, boba drinks, and Filipino traditions in a way that feels authentic to our community. BOBA & CARS represents what we stand for, bringing people together over shared passions.”— Lloyd de Vera
